Features

Checkout Portal offers extremely fast integration and uncomplicated onboarding. In order to create a customer account, we require the current business registration or commercial register excerpt, if available, and a valid, legible copy of identification. Verification starts as soon as all the required forms have been submitted. All documents can be uploaded digitally, meaning no paperwork is required.

CONFIGURATOR

In the special back-end portal, retailers can conveniently see all transactions and process them as required. Access to this portal is granted in a separate email following activation.

The industry-specific modules for payment processing and fraud recognition make online payment easier and more secure than ever before. Wirecard's successful fraud recognition programme, the Fraud Prevention Standard, is already installed in the standard version of our service.

An upgrade to the Premium Version can be obtained for a small extra charge. This verifies additional parameters to ensure even greater security in e-Commerce.

This authentication process minimises the risk of fraudulent credit card usage effectively. For MasterCard, this solution is called MasterCard Secure Code while Visa has Verified by Visa. It asks customers to enter an additional password during the payment process in the online shop.

The descriptions to each payment type offer a good overview. Stay a step ahead by accepting credit card, PayPal and SOFORT. In addition, each country has its own favoured payment method. Direct debit and giropay are preferred in Germany, iDEAL in the Netherlands and direct debit and eps is most popular in Austria.

Yes, recurring payments are supported. If a customer returns or has a subscription, they do not need to enter their credit card details again. Payment can be conveniently debited from the credit card for which they have stored details. Regular customers will value this service.

Checkout Portal verifies all payments online in real time and allows permanent access to all sales. The user-friendly Account Management System provides an overview of all statistics.

The statements are sent individually per payment type. For example, if credit card and SOFORT Überweisung are linked to your shop, you will receive one statement for credit cards and another for SOFORT Überweisung.

If monthly payment has been agreed, the settlement and payout occurs in the first week of the following month.

If weekly payment has been agreed, the settlement and payout occurs in the following week. In addition, a balance note is provided.

How To

As a rule, all incoming payments on your online shop are settled every week and payment occurs shortly after. If you would prefer shorter accounting periods, please let us know. We guarantee that we will find the right solution for all requirements.

How To

A security deposit of 5% is held after each credit card translation. As a rule, this is paid out to retailers in full within 180 days. Our No Reserve premium service reduces this retainer to 0%. Pay outs take place on a monthly basis.

How To

A chargeback is a recall of payment by the cardholder. This process occurs when a cardholder submits an objection to their bank. Following successful recall, the chargeback amount is credited to the cardholder account and the retailer is debited for the chargeback fee.

Retailers have the option of challenging this chargeback.

Required documents include proof of delivery, for example. Proof provided by retailers is passed on to the card organisation for verification.

Following the successful counterclaim by the retailer, they are recredited the chargeback amount minus the chargeback fee.

You can use the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app to quickly and easily process card payments with your smartphone or tablet.
Connect the card reader to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and either enter the customer’s card into the reader – as you would do at any other terminal – or swipe the card through the slit. The customer will then be prompted to enter their PIN or provide their signature in order to authorise the payment. As soon as the transaction is complete, you can send the invoice to your customer if necessary.
You can accept payments anywhere. To successfully use Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS, all you require is a Wi-Fi or mobile network connection as a security check has to be carried out.

Yes, you require a Wi-Fi or mobile network connection in order for Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS to carry out a security check during the transaction. The time taken by the check can vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
As a cheap and secure alternative to traditional, stationary checkout terminals, you will receive the following discounts when you pay with Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS: MasterCard 2.5%, Visa 2.5% and Maestro / V PAY 0.95%, chargeback € 20.
It is best to use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the card reader. To prevent liquid from getting into the card reader (e.g. through the card slot), never spray cleaning agents directly onto the card reader and do not use any solvents. Ideally, always store the card reader in a cool, dry place (at a temperature of no more than 25°C) and do not expose it to direct sunlight. Avoid physical impacts to the card reader.

With Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS, your customers can pay electronically and enjoy the same security standards as conventional card payments at traditional checkout terminals. Wirecard adheres to and meets all generally accepted regulations and standards which apply to card transactions. The app was developed and card payments are processed in line with the highest available security and encryption standards. As soon as the customer connects their card to the card reader, all data are encrypted by means of end-to-end encryption and the entire process is certified under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). In this context, neither the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app nor the card reader stores confidential information on the smartphone or tablet.
Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS collects data exclusively in accordance with the statutory requirements. These data are never disclosed to third parties without being asked for, with the exception of official orders.
Customer data are never disclosed without being asked for. If financial partners require data, as little data as possible will be passed on to them exclusively for the purposes of transaction-related processes.
With Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS you are not signing up to any contract or regular fixed costs. There is also no minimum sales target. It is therefore not necessary to close your Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS account. The premium Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS service is only available to existing Checkout Portal customers. You can register directly through the dashboard; no documentation is required. After your registration with Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS is confirmed, your card reader will be sent out to you. You will then immediately be able to accept card payments with the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app.

Card payments with Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS are extremely simple and involve three steps: a) Enter payment amount (with an optional description) Select ‘New Payment’ in the menu and enter the amount Select the applicable tax rate. Then click on ‘Basket’ to see the articles in the payment overview. Press ‘Quantity’ to use the +/– buttons to change the standard quantity. The total amount will be updated accordingly. Note: If you add an optional description, it will appear on the receipt and in the transaction details for informational purposes. Please note that the minimum amount is € 1. With regard to variable VAT rates, you can set the tax rate for each individual article (7% or 19%). b) Connect the card reader to the smartphone or tablet and enter/swipe the card After pressing ‘Pay’, you will be prompted to connect the card reader to your smartphone or tablet and have a valid card ready. Connect the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS card reader to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. Enter a valid card into the card reader (if it is a debit card) or swipe it through the slit on the card reader (if it is a credit card). c) The customer confirms the payment by entering their PIN or placing their signature on the display After the card has been read, a signature box will appear on the screen where the customer can place their signature (if it is a debit card) or the customer will be prompted to enter their PIN (if it is a credit card). A stylus or simply a finger can be used to place the signature. By entering their PIN or placing their signature, the customer is authorising the payment. Once the signature or PIN has been entered, complete the payment by clicking on ‘Pay’; you will then see an overview of the payment details. You can then send the customer the payment confirmation by email (please enter the email address) with the ‘Send Details by Email’ function. Note: The payment confirmation contains all relevant payment details. For the purposes of data security, the data of the end customer (e.g. their account number) will be encrypted. Our tip: Test the payment process yourself before using it with a customer.
The Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS card reader accepts national and international debit cards (Maestro, V PAY) and all common credit cards (MasterCard, Visa).
We recommend that you always carry out a series of additional checks yourself when accepting card payments: Check that the name on the card matches the one on the card holder’s identification Check that the card holder has signed the card Check that the card holder’s signature on the display matches the one on the back of the card Check the expiry date of the card Does the card show any signs of manipulation? If you have any doubts as to at least two of these points, you always should refuse to accept the card.
Yes you can. Here’s how: Enter the payment amount, select the applicable tax rate and enter an optional description. Press the ‘Pay’ button and then select the option ‘Cash Payment’.
Yes you can. To create a new article, enter the name, tax rate, individual price, a product identifier (e.g. article category or number) and add a photo. If the customer wants to purchase that article, you can activate the camera and scan the bar code of the article by pressing the bar code button in the top right of the sales view in the app. The name and price of the article will then appear in the basket and the customer can proceed to pay.
You can accept any payment of more than € 1 with Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS. There is no maximum amount or limit. The advantage of this is that you can accept higher amounts without having to split an invoice.
It is easy to send your customer a receipt by email or print it out using a (mobile or desktop) printer. Email receipts are optional and can be sent from within the app by entering the customer’s email address at the end of the payment process. Receipts can also be printed on a standard printer.
The receipts that you can send to customers through Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS are only a confirmation of payment. They cannot be used as a replacement for invoices which conform to the standards set out by the German tax office.
In the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app, click on ‘Payment Overview’ in the menu and then on ‘Previous Transactions’ to view your transactions as well as their statuses and details. You will also receive a transaction overview by email with your weekly statement.
Yes, you can cancel any transaction within the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app.
Payments can be cancelled by 12 noon on the same working day. If the payment was accepted after 12 noon, the transaction can be cancelled by 12 noon (CET) on the following working day. Example 1: The payment was accepted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The transaction can be cancelled by 12 noon on the same day (Tuesday in this case). Example 2: The payment was accepted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The transaction can be cancelled by 12 noon on the following day (Wednesday in this case). Naturally, you can cancel payments free of charge. Note: If the deadline for cancelling a payment has already expired, you can still refund the payment amount to your customer out of goodwill or when reversing a purchase. Likewise, you can initiate this process from within the app. Please note that in this case, the transaction fees cannot be refunded.
The entire payment process in Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS meets the high security requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and is certified under that standard. For your security, please always compare the signature on the display with the one on the card and, if necessary, ask the customer to present identification. If a payment fails or is reversed, a foreign bank fee of € 20 will be charged.
Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS collects payment-related information solely to ensure that all transactions are processed quickly, securely and correctly. Relevant data are anonymised and encrypted before they are stored.

Wirecard will email you a detailed statement every week. This statement contains all disbursements, refunds and chargebacks of payable fees and expenses. Please check the statement as soon as possible and, if you have any complaints, contact our service team immediately. If the Wirecard statement contains a payable negative balance, please settle the balance as soon as you receive the statement. If Wirecard is authorised to collect the amount or debit it through the SEPA system, the amount will be debited from your account. In this context please also refer to our GTC.
Take the same steps as you would for a real transaction and, in the final transaction stage, press ‘Cancel’ instead of ‘Pay’.
The duration of the transaction can vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
The card failed the security check and is therefore not being accepted.
If transactions are being rejected, this is usually because no suitable Internet connection is available. Please check the Internet connection on your smartphone or tablet.
Check that the following criteria are being met: The card is valid. You have downloaded every available update and are using the latest version of the app. If these criteria are being met and the card still cannot be read, the magnetic strip on the card might be scratched or dirty. Please check the magnetic strip on the card. Try to remove as much dirt as possible. If it is scratched or otherwise damaged, the card will be unusable as the magnetic strip cannot be read. You can download the free Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app from the App Store or the Google Play Store. Type ‘Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS’ into the search bar to quickly find the app in the list of results and install it.
Once you have installed the app, you can launch it by touching the icon. You can log in with your Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS email address and password. Our tip: If you press ‘Remember XXXX (User ID)’, you will be able to log into the app in future simply by entering your password.
Press ‘I have forgotten my password’ on the home page of the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app; you will then be prompted to enter your email address. You will then receive an email containing a link to a secure website where you can set a new password. You will then immediately be able to use the new password for your Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS account.
You can change your password within the Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS app by pressing ‘Account’ in the menu and then ‘Change Password’. Once you have successfully changed your password, you will have to log in again with your new password. If you are using multiple end devices with Wirecard Checkout Portal mPOS, the new password will immediately apply to all other devices once you change it. Note: For security reasons, we recommend that you change your password on a regular basis.
